The Crisis & Realization
Amidst Sri Lanka’s economic crisis, brothers Huzaifah and Hafiz witnessed the harsh reality of food dependency. They realized safe food is humanity's most critical need, inspiring them to embark on a journey to learn how to grow their own.
Dusk of 2022Discovering Traditional Roots
Traveling the island, the brothers discovered dedicated local farmers preserving nature through traditional practices. Passed down through generations, these methods focused on conserving the soil and ecosystem to harness the finest flavors in perfect harmony with wellbeing.
Mid 2023Facing Market Realities
Launching with high hopes and a few spices sourced from partner farmers, the brothers faced harsh rejections from local retail stores. The market was saturated with cheap, low-quality products, creating a disheartening reality where price consistently won over quality.
Late 2023The Difficult Transition
Refusing to abandon their hard-won produce, the brothers approached wholesalers. However, they encountered an industry driven solely by low prices and high volume, showing no care for quality and leaving the brothers desperate for anyone to value their mission.
2024Hope
Reaching out to foreign markets in desperation, they found hope. Burlap & Barrel -USA's celebrated single-origin brand loved their spices, embraced their story, acknowledged their farmers, and gave them the genuine value they deserved.
Late 2024Sowing the Seeds of Self-Sufficiency
Today, Team Embrace Greens spans 200+ farmers and 5+ ethical manufacturing partners. Now cultivating their own organic superfoods, the brothers actively champion honesty in food to leave the next generation independent and deeply rooted in self-sufficiency.
